I have always networked for as long as I can remember. I address this point in my book, from changing schools to moving countries, you have to learn to develop new relationships and make new friends. You create a network of people both in personal and business life.
Networking is never easy, no matter how comfortable you are in your own skin – and to then try and Make a Splash to be remembered can feel hugely daunting.
The book, Making a Splash (a personal guide to networking), is my perceptive take on how it is done, how it can be done and sharing the tools I created to help me through the process.
I have interviewed other people as well to get a glimpse of their perceptions and views, in hopes to give you an alternative approach.
The idea of making a splash in the book was also that I akin networking to swimming and how it is hard to enter the pool because you have not acclimatised to the water and it feels cold. This is when you want to cling to the side of the pool and just watch others. The book is designed to help overcome nerves or simple to refresh your approach.
